P.E. days - Every Wednesday and Thursday.

Topic – Superheroes ~ designing and naming their own Superhero (making up their own super powers, weakenesses and designing a costume), design a new Villain, design a mode of transport and place for their Superhero to live.

Science - Feeding and Exercise ~ finding out basic needs of animals, including humans, for survival (water, food and air); how animals obtain their food, using the idea of a simple food chain and identifying different sources of food.

Maths -
Time - days of the week, months of the year ~ looking at calendars

Number - counting and comparing numbers, writing number names and ordinal numbers.

2D/3D - exploring 2D and 3D shapes (features), discussing why some shapes fit together and others will not and using shapes to make a tiling pattern.

Patterns - exploring number patterns and continuing different number sequences.

Roots of Empathy ~ Changing the world, child by child.
Building caring, peaceful, and civil societies throught the development of empathy in children and adults.

Baby Amelie will be visiting the classroom nine times over the school year. The class will be observing the baby’s development and labelling the baby’s feeling and intentions. The program will help the children to identify and reflect on their own feelings and the feelings of others.
